  • Location/Region
  • Grape Growing
  • Wine Production
  • Maturation
  • Bottling

Factors Affecting Key Characteristics of Still, Sparkling & Fortified Wine

Once we’ve laid the groundwork of depth of understanding for all the principles of wine making you’ll then dive into how those factors will affect the characteristics of over 80 different wines from around the world, from still to sparkling and fortified wines. By the end of the course you will have deep, professional level insights into a vast array of wines, from grape to glass.

Professional Wine Analysis Techniques

Each part of this course informs the next. Using the depth of knowledge you’ll have about a whole range of internationally renowned wines you’ll learn how to apply that knowledge to wine analysis, and importantly, the explanation of wine, accurately describing how and why the wine has its unique and exciting characteristics.

The WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®

The WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT) combines logical, systematic and professional wine tasting methods into one formula that is absolutely invaluable to wine connoisseurs. You’ll learn a step by step approach, looking in depth at the appearance, nose and palate of a wine, as well as gaining a globally recognised lexicon.

How to Accurately Evaluate and Describe Wine

Using the SAT you will then be able to accurately use your palate to analyse, evaluate and describe the wines that you will taste throughout your life. This is an essential skill that differentiates the wine lover from the wine connoisseur and will allow you to experience wine in a way you never had before.
